Great gem for checking out art capturing the spirit of the wild west. $7 admission is a bargain
We had a family reunion here a week ago and it was wonderful! They rented out the space in the basement for us and food was catered in. Afterwards my immediate family stayed after for a little private tour of the museum. Very knowledgeable staff and very interesting and beautiful art. One of the reunion members forgot a camera and our tour guide even drove it out to our hotel (as the museum was already closed) a few minutes away. So generous!
Wonderful taste of the West. Skilled artwork and programs for kids. It is a comfortably sized museum.

Great museum, and the docent was really knowledgeable and obviously passionate about talking about the region and the museum. As a plus, one of the local artists, John Coleman, was there signing books and we were able to get a personalized signature. Go on a Saturday if you want to have the tour with the docent.
