I see a lot of people had a Good experience at this store i wish i could say the same we were in the store during a storm and the only customers there are patronage was repaid by 3 employees following us around and taking turns hitting on my wife she was so upset she left the store as we went to the register were the clerk took both shoes we were buying out of the box and the paper out of the shoes and box looking for any hidden items he them let me pay for the shoes and a pair of swimming googles before demanding that it was store policy to see my credit card and drivers license after having paid for my items. I have shopped at this store several times and never been treated like this nor has my wife. I should mention my disabled son was with me and wanted to know why people were talking to mom this way. These are not good people or employees and i hope big 5 replaces them all with deserving employees who respect the people who are willing to pass by walmart were i could have got both of these items for the same or less money to support a business that is part of a chain but owned by a resident of are city.
Bryan was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful in helping me try on tennis shoes and running shoes. He was also extremely patient since I had to try on quite a few different pairs.
However if you need excellent running or hiking socks. Ask to see the Therlo socks. Little pricy but I am darnning a 6 year old pair that is still in great shape except where my toenail rubs through.
I love the manager of this store! He is so friendly and helpful, not pushy at all just there to help if you need. I ended up returning a sleeping bag that didn't zip and he gave me store credit no questions ask. Theres a ton of parking and there open till 8 most nights which is great.
Normally, I don't have a problem with Big 5, but I just visited this store and felt very uncomfortable. One employee in the shoe section kept hovering around me and watching me as if I was going to steal something. He also kept talking to me and asking if I needed help finding anything (which sounds harmless if you are a naive shopper). You would think businesses would get it these days that harassing customers actually does more harm than good. I would have kept shopping if that employee wasn't bothering me so much.
Service was very good. Unfortunately I wear size 11 workout shoes and they only had size 10"s, so I was out of luck.
