Right on the 50 mile trail. Big semi private camp sights. A little out of town but thats not a bad thing. Quiet and relaxing. Not far to Watson lake and Willow lake. Prescott has an awesome trail system all over town and its all connected. The almost complete, but rideable Ranch Badger Connector will add another sweet state of the art loop on the east side of town. Way to go Prescott.
Only thing that was complete rubbish is the way it is managed. We checked online ahead of time and it clearly states first come first serve, when we showed up nobody was working so we drove around and found that, although half of the sites were open, all but one had a reservation sign. So obviously we chose the one available site. The next day the jackass that works there explained that he forgot to reserve that site but he could make arrangements for us to move to the other end of the campground. Once we packed up we desided that we were not in the mood to set up camp again, and cut our weekend short. The manager was very convincing at "playing" dumb and informed us that the company does not feel he is responsible enough to handle any of the finances and so we could not get a refund for the 2nd and 3rd nights that we paid for.
The campground was nice and relatively clean considering it is so close to Prescott, maybe too close, with the highway running nearby. Great biking and hiking trails. We had an excellent ride on Goldwater Lakes Trail #396.
So in summary mediocre place not worth the $42 a night we spent.
This is a well kept and lovely campground. Most sites are in the pines and come with fire pits with iron grilland a picnic table on a gravel square. Very nice camp host and clean well maintained pit toilets. No running water after Nov. 1st, and half of camp ground is closed for winter. Several trails right from camp ground. Reservations recommend. Only about 2-3 miles out of Prescott.
Besides the expected hum of generators attached to land yachts, it was a peaceful and serene experience. Lots of good hiking, a friendly campground host, and clean pit toilets; who could ask for anything more?
Good place which has water, fire place, parking and campaign ground maintained well
