Historic beauty. A very nice, leisurely place to relax and have a picnic, or walk around and sight see. Delicious restaurants to try. Vintage, western, eclectic, unique stores to shop at as well. Fun all year round!
Whenever my family come from out of town to visit this is one of the first places I take him to. Usually in the spring and summer months there's always something going on in the Square on the weekends. Also this place is fun to take casual walks around and people watch and meet new friends. There's plenty of grass to lay on and relax. Also you are within walking distance from many different types of shops bars and restaurants.
The Courthouse Square in Prescott is a great place to walk around and people watch. There are locals hanging out, talking, selling art, playing music, or walking their dogs, and tourists window shopping or frequenting the bars and restaurants on Whiskey Row and the other streets surrounding the square. I enjoy driving my Miata up Route 89A through the windinh back road into Prescott and then parking at the courthouse square and hanging out for a couple of hours. And that's what, to me, it is, a great place to hang out. In addition to all of what I have described so far about half of the time there is an organized event going on from an art show to a Bluegrass Festival. Check the listings to see what's going on this weekend! I'm sure you'll find something interesting.
Lots of things to see and do! Great food, great shops. Cool weather and there oftentimes some kind of event. It's worth a trip for the atmosphere alone.
Neat building, big trees. Cool stroll around the block. Used to be a nicer experience before the army of dog owners took over downtown. Still a good place to spend a few hours- just be advised the grass is full of dog poo, and many, many, dogs on long leashes (who clearly have the right of way). But hey, the city seems to have gotten rid of the many panhandlers who used to swarm the place.
