Dr Iorio removed my wife's lymph nodes without advance warning during her lumpectomy. Unfortunately, by removing the lymph, it allowed the cancer stem cells to escape (seeding) to other parts of her body. We later discovered doctors are no longer removing auxiliary lymph nodes as these are the last line of defense and removal has no long term benefit and does cause lymphodema which is very painful and long term.
