I liked Dr. Alan very much. He sat down and took time to explain things to me and listened when I talked. However it was impossible to get in touch with him. The office staff complained, I could not get through on the phone and had to drive to the office more than twice to get what I needed from them. I was having a very difficult time and called his office several times during the day and week. Very often the after hours answered during office hours. They were full of excuses and rude when I walked in to get what I needed. Its hard to believe this practice is what Dr. Alam had in mind when he became a doctor. I left and went to Mayo Clinic.
Everyone in the office is really nice. Dr Alam is very nice and soft spoken which I like, not cocky. He explained everything to me and answered all my questions.
What good is an MD you can not reach?? Kind of like a gas station sans gas. Phone calls reach answering machines which NEVER result in call backs. E Mails are also ignored. This my friends is the classic result of what an oligopoly does. Demand is way out of proportion to supply and these guys, all of medicine, have no problem exploiting that fact and us.
Dr. Alam diagnosed me with esophagitis in May of 2017. I went for second opinion in June and was diagnosed with stage II cancer in my esophagus. Dr. Alam could have caught it then but didn't even take a swab. I'd change Dr's if I were you.
