My surgery was done under VA on a fee basis and the letter was clear that all charges related to the surgery were to be charged to VA.
Few answer's. Still in pain after 6 months. Told to lose 40 pounds and become a vegan. However when I was 40 pounds lighter still had the back pain. Recently lost 20 pounds with no noticeable improvement. Knee gave out and eventually had orthopedic scope surgery. Knee freezes and swells up after 9 weeks. Seven trips to the surgeon only to see him four times and the last three visits his assistant. Only recommendation is to try an exercise post surgery program. Recommend seeking a different operation.
This is ridiculous. I called the VA hospital and they told me all required follow up appointments are covered.
Then they tell me that they need authorization from VA, they apparently are incapable of reading the letter from VA and refused to schedule the appointment until they could verify and told me they would call me in a couple of days.
They still refused to schedule an appointment.
For my second 6 week appointment they "did not have the schedule" for the doctor and said they would call. A couple of weeks before the appointment was due I called them when I had not heard anything.
They pulled up my file and asked me if I needed to see a doctor due to pain and I told them to look at the record and they would see I already had surgery and this was a follow up requested by the doctor.
But the staff is rather inept.
Yet they charged my private insurance for a back brace and acted like is was a big deal to charge it correctly.
The staff is incredibly nice and even if you might wait 10 minutes or more in the waiting room, the staff here really makes you feel welcome. My mom has been in to see Dr. Burchfield and Dr. Trainor and we could not be more thrilled with her care. We are very blessed to have these kind doctors in Prescott.
Two weeks later, after hearing nothing, I called them again and they told me they have not heard from VA.
I had surgery with Doctor Trainor and he did a good job.
I also told them if VA would not pay for it just charge the appointment to my BCBS plan.
The staff is a little less than adequate in my opinion.
